		<description>If the goal of a project is to create an artifact, then designers, with their holistic approach, may indeed bridge the gaps. However, if a project is intended to do "research", meaning the that it should generate knowledge, then designers are often not able to live up to the expectations of the scientists. It is then the engineer, who will have to bring them together.

However, as a dual engineer/designer, I'd say it's Designers that bridge the gap between Engineers and Scientists, especially as we start seeing HCI (and many other things) increasingly moving toward commoditization. The humanistic component is more and more the driving factor.</description>
