Mise à jour

Friday, August 26th, 2005

Upgrade

Friday, August 26th, 2005

I just upgraded this blog to the latest version of textpattern and everything is better but permalinks that can’t seem to work the old way. Sorry for all people linking here you will (probably) be redirected to the homepage rather than the article you are searching.

The new nomenclature is now /section/article id/title.

For some reason the old way, involving the article date, does not work anymore.

the joy of releasing new apps

- the feeds do not work as they are supposed to. The Atom feed is OK but Nicole sez “you shall use RSS” and when Nicole sez me does.
– my host went down yesterday at the worst possible time (2 secs after pressing the “Save Template” button)
– the subdomain blog.ballpark.ch has not been activated by these same people (I wish I could googlebomb them “à la Scoble”: bad hosting, bad hosting)
– the site was quite nice (clean at least, the real design team will start working later) on Firefox, then I checked it out on IE who is quickly becoming the Netscape 4 of the 21st century (HTML people will feel the pain)

I was discussing last week how software (most notably open source software) has matured, how it better covers these standard needs like blogging. Still there is a long way to go before software simply works the way it is supposed to work. You knew that.

bohellz vs ballpark

Tuesday, June 14th, 2005

It’s been a while I was considering moving my “work related” posts away from my historic blog. I started bohellz more than four years ago and it’s been (and will continue to be) a really cool ride. Lately I feel like I have been blogging on two increasingly incompatible directions (personal vs work) and that time has come to separate things a bit.

As I’m now starting my own company (coming on July 1…) I decided to create this pro blog (using lovely textpattern) while I will continue publishing the more personal posts on bohellz.
As I intend to discuss here with all the great “European practical visionaries” I met last week at reboot, I will try to write in English all the time. Sorry in advance for that, MS Words help but…

A great new adventure starts today, finally.

PS: Nico is the first to link to ballpark thx (and your comment system is down, check the verification picture thingy)
