Rechargeable in 10 seconds
Posted: March 14th, 2009 | 2 Comments »This could radically change computing, electric cars, mobile phones, etc etc. Batterie that can be recharged in 10 to 20 seconds, based on a “simple” an iteration of existing technologies, so it could happen very fast!
MIT engineers have found a way to make lithium batteries that are smaller, lighter, longer lasting and capable of recharging in seconds. The team [revamped] the battery recipe. [...] Using their new processing technique, the team made a small battery that could be fully charged in 10 to 20 seconds.

By adding neodymium to a battery, it can be recharged in 10 seconds.
Neodymium is a rare mineral which is abundant in China and lies near the surface of the earth.
The U.S.A. has neodymium too but it’s buried deap down and has to be drilled deep.
