The chair of the Creative Commons project talked about the ongoing war on copyright. Very political speech you can listen to here.

Freedom comes from a sane recognition of the limits and the balance built into property. We have to defend it, we have to change the law. Because law is what will kill technology.

We are not building a political movement to protect freedom to “pirate”. Creative commons is about going out of this thinking that the current war is between hollywood and downloaders. There are people in between, making reasonable propositions, and these propositions will have to eventually translate in polical actions.

Let’s hope it is this guy shaping the future, not hollywood moguls.
