Powerbooks as Proxy to Engage Discussion

Dog owners have been using their animal to engage or be engaged in discussions (e.g. during daily walks). Now, from my light ethnological observations, it seems that Apple Powerbooks are used as a new sort of social proxy in public spaces (e.g. in the train, strangers asking for purchase advices).

    it actually works with ibook too, especially in trains/airport/café(strong correlation with starbucks)

    it actually works with ipods too sometimes :)
    people are magically attracted to anything apple :D

    since we’re not rich people in order to own powerbooks and hang out in the park with them (which is sad but true, anything we own might disappear right before we know it), ipods are wonderful devices that magically attract other ipod users.

    it’s basically just the need to click with something, probably psp gamers will be attracted to other psp gamers and people wearing threadless tshirts will also be attracted to others wearing ….. oh you get my point anyway :)
